German Design Awards 2024
At the beginning of December, all the winners of the German Design Awards from the German Design Council established 70 years ago at the request of the German Parliament, were announced. Today, it is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world, recognising significant trends and pioneering, innovative achievements that comprehensively cover all aspects of everyday life and the rich diversity of design culture.

Products from 65 industries are awarded, including the following: Architecture, Aviation, maritime and railway, Bicycles and e-bikes, Passenger vehicles, Books and calendars, Furniture, Gardening and outdoor living, Lighting, Home textiles and home accessories, Office furniture, Urban space and infrastructure, Apps, Game design, Luxury goods, Medical rehabilitation and health care, Outdoor activities and leisure, and many others.

The winners from 55 countries will be honoured at an awards ceremony on 26 January 2024 in Frankfurt am Main. In recent years, the focus has increasingly been on transformation: how to make products more environmentally friendly, optimise user experience, and make processes more efficient. The awards are given in one of three main categories: Excellent Product Design, Excellent Architecture and Excellent Communications Design.

DRESS_CODE Glam Outdoor
- Materials: steel frame, quilted seat made of water-repellent fabric, armrests made of natural oak or iroko wood
- Metal colours: linen, dove grey, anthracite, terracotta, olive green, air-force blue
- Upholstery: 6 shades of fabrics

The Dress Code chaise-lounge received an award from the German Lounge Design Council in the Excellent Product Design category in the field of Gardening and Outdoor Living.
The DRESS_CODE lounge chair takes its inspiration from haute couture, exploring colour combinations between the structure and the seat, and features individual upholstery that evokes a sense of craftsmanship. The Dress Code Glam Outdoor 2583 has a quilted seat in large squares of water-repellent fabric, which, combined with the delicate tubular steel structure and wooden armrests, becomes an extraordinary piece of outdoor furniture with timeless beauty. An optional headrest cushion with fabric cover is available.

Glam, Indoor and Outdoor models differ in only one detail — the wood used for the armrests: iroko wood for the Outdoor version, and natural oak for the Glam Indoor model. In total, the outdoor furniture of the Dress Code collection is available in six variants, which differ depending on the different types of seat fabric and elegant wooden armrests, except for the Basic model, which has metal armrests.

- Basic (art. no. 2585) is available with a textile seat;
- Smart Indoor and Outdoor (art. no. 2580, 2581) — fabrics with a smooth finish;
- Glam Indoor and Outdoor (art. no. 2582, 2583) — quilted seat in squares;
- Fashion (art. no. 2584) — upholstered and shaped seat in the form of waves.

"With the German Design Award, we are creating far more than just a showcase for design achievements. We are increasingly recognising the need to put the design discourse at the forefront: Global developments, sustainability and circular design, digitalisation and AI, as well as ideas for a more social, fairer society are topics that have a place with us," says Lutz Dietzold, CEO of the German Design Council.
