Collection HUG
The HUG collection by S-CAB is a series of chairs and armchairs for hospitality spaces that combines soft rounded forms, advanced technopolymer and the concept of an “embrace” as the central design element. The collection is designed for cafés, restaurants, lounge areas and contemporary terraces, where outdoor chairs with high resistance to intensive use are particularly important, alongside ergonomics, durability and the emotional perception of space.
The collection includes plastic chairs, armchairs and outdoor models available in technopolymer versions or with soft textile inserts. The defining feature of the collection is the distinctive bridge-like element between the seat and the backrest, visually creating the effect of an embrace while simultaneously enhancing seating comfort.
Features of the HUG collection
HUG Technopolymer — a monolithic technopolymer version developed for intensive contract use. Thanks to its embossed texture and sculptural geometry, the models remain visually expressive even in minimalist interiors and contemporary outdoor environments.
HUG Upholstered — a version featuring integrated soft inserts and textile upholstery on the central element. These models create a more intimate and tactilely comfortable atmosphere, making them especially suitable for restaurants, boutique hotels and designer hospitality spaces.
The collection was developed by Meneghello Paolelli for S-CAB as a furniture system combining aesthetics, ergonomics and adaptability for different usage scenarios. Thanks to the balanced proportions of the seat and backrest, HUG appears lightweight while still providing comfort even during long guest stays.
Technically, HUG is a technopolymer monocoque, yet the system itself is designed as a flexible platform in which different materials and configurations allow the furniture to adapt to both interior and outdoor environments. The collection works equally organically in contemporary restaurants and lounge areas as well as on open terraces and rooftop spaces.
Thanks to its stackability, resistance to intensive use and the combination of soft forms with architectural graphic character, HUG has become one of the most recognisable contemporary S-CAB collections within the designer contract furniture segment.
