Project description
Budzzini in Lviv is an Italian restaurant within LEV Lifestyle Hotel, combining Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere with contemporary Ukrainian design, natural materials and carefully selected outdoor terrace solutions.

Budzzini is not simply an Italian restaurant. It is an attempt to transplant a particular mood to Lviv: a salt breeze, white limestone cliffs, the shade of an olive tree, an unhurried dinner somewhere between Naples and the Amalfi Coast. The Gazda Group venue opened as part of LEV Lifestyle Hotel at 73 Shevchenko Street and immediately became a destination in its own right — not just for hotel guests.

The name Budzzini is a coinage — soft and melodic, like the Italian language itself. No claim to authenticity, but a clear sense of where you are being invited.

Interior: Italy as a State of Mind

The interior was designed by Lviv-based Kostin Design Studio. The brief: to convey the spirit of Italy through detail, not through pastiche. It succeeded.

The defining images of the space are cliffs, sea and olive grove. Textured walls evoke Mediterranean limestone — raw, alive, with a natural relief. Rope details reference fishing harbours and old port towns. Live olive trees in planters are distributed through the dining room — not as decoration, but as the presence of another climate, another pace. Together, these elements produce a delicate, contemporary image of Italy — without roaming violinists or plastic vines.

The palette runs from sand to warm ochre to olive. Materials are natural, with texture. The lighting is soft, warm, evening-like even at midday. The space is designed for one thing: eating slowly and talking at length.

Terrace: Summer All Year

Budzzini has its own outdoor space — an extension of the restaurant into the open air, where the mood becomes lighter still. The terrace is shaded by commercial parasols, surrounded by greenery, and open to the street life of Shevchenko Street.

Furniture as Part of the Concept

Contract restaurant furniture was selected to match the character of the space — warm in material, restrained in form.

For the main dining areas, the designers specified two seating types from Polish manufacturer Paged: the B-4390 Prop armchair with upholstered seat and armrests — for zones where guests settle in for the long haul — and the B-2960 La Benda armchair, a lighter, more open construction. Both models are finished in natural timber, in keeping with the warm tonal register of the interior.

The Tiffany Square 5180 tables — a square top on a central pedestal base — keep the space uncluttered. Clean geometry that keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food and the conversation.

The terrace is fitted with Galileo Dark 3×3 m parasols from Scolaro — a dark canopy that creates a contrasting shade and gives the terrace definition. The Galileo Dark is a cantilever design with no central post, leaving the space beneath fully open and unobstructed for service.
